A good way for students to learn vocabulary is by using the 'kahoot'.

'Kahoot' is an online platform where, as a teacher, you can create your own content and share it with other students and classmates.

It is perfect to bring the theory studied closer, all the students love it!

I have created the 'kahoot', which I bring you below, to work on the names of animals in English.

It is based on 10 questions that 1st grade students must answer, choosing the correct answer. Once they discuss among themselves what they think is the name of the fruit that corresponds to the image shown, they have to choose the desired option and, after 10 seconds, the program will tell them if they have been correct or not.

The goal is for students to learn the vocabulary given in class in a fun way.

Duration time: 30 minutes
Materials: Computer/tablet
Grouping: By groups, individually, in pairs...

    Hello Maria! I would like to say you that the design of your blog is really original and organized. Congratulations!
    Moreover, I agree with you when you say that Kahoot is a great tool to learn and practice the vocabulary of a certain unit. It was a resource that some of my teachers from the university used and it was really motivating.
    On the other hand, I like the way you have explained the activity.

    Hello Maria! I believe that kahoot is a fantastic app in order to practise the unit that you are working in class and to teach in a different way. However, I don't know if it's the best way to practise and develop your students' speaking skills. It could be better for example for learning new vocabulary to use in a essay.

WRITING

The text letters have been misplaced! In the last of the activities you have to fill in the gaps in the text with the image you see. The resource used this time has been the online page “wordwall”. With a lot of tools for teachers. This activity can be played in two ways. Individually, where students must fill in the gaps on a sheet. Or, with the tablets that are offered to children. Where the teacher will put the image on the board, and students must drag the correct option, where appropriate. It is an activity to improve writing and reading.
